Description
The Bunny Leech is one of stillwater fly fishing's most enduring subsurface patterns — and the reason is simple: wet rabbit fur moves like nothing else. A tail of rabbit strip trails behind the hook, breathing and undulating with even the slowest retrieve, while a collar of cross-cut rabbit wound forward builds a dense, mobile body that pushes water and creates a lifelike pulsing action. A brass bead head adds a touch of weight to help the fly sink and introduces a subtle flash point at the nose. Few patterns cover as much water as effectively across a range of conditions, from slow figure-of-eight retrieves along the margins to a faster strip through the water column. Tied by Scientific Fly in Black, Olive and Orange — three colours that cover clear water, stained water and attractor fishing in equal measure.
