Description
Crazy Charlies is arguably the most famous bonefish fly ever tied. Developed on Andros Island in the Bahamas in 1977 by guide Charlie Smith and popularised by angler Bob Nauheim, it was the first bonefish pattern to incorporate bead-chain eyes โ a breakthrough that allowed the fly to ride hook point up and avoid snagging the bottom. Slim, flashy and endlessly adaptable, the Crazy Charlie imitates small shrimp and crustaceans with a simplicity that has made it a staple in saltwater fly boxes around the world for nearly fifty years.
