The Sage Shift LT reels are the premium offering in the Shift reel series. More material has been machined from the frame and spool, reducing weight without compromising strength. The Shift LT reels feature Sage’s sealed carbon SGS Drag System, a ported aluminium handle, an integrated counterweight and twice the drag adjustment resolution of the standard Shift reels. For anglers who want the best tool on the water — and are prepared to invest in it — the Shift LT is the reel for you.

Carbon Drag Precision, Sealed Against the Elements

Where the standard Shift utilises the SCS system, the Shift LT steps up to the SGS — Sage’s sealed carbon drag package, using proprietary carbon drag discs developed and sourced in the USA. Redundant internal seals block water intrusion and prevent corrosion, making this reel as capable in the salt as it is on a mountain stream. The One Revolution Drag Knob, numbered 1 to 20 with a click position between each number, gives 39 settings in total — finer increments, greater precision and the same tactile repeatability, turn after turn.

Ultralight Construction, Obsessively Considered

The Shift LT’s cold forged, machined frame and spool are extensively ported — material has been removed wherever it adds no structural value. The result is a reel that feels noticeably lighter on the rod without any hint of flex or fragility. A counterweight is integrated directly into the spool to ensure smooth, balanced rotation even at high retrieval speeds, while the machined, ported handle further reduces weight while improving grip. Every component has been considered for the weight it carries and the purpose it serves.

Available in 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 and 9/10 models, the Sage Shift LT reels cover everything from technical dry fly work to medium saltwater fishing. The large arbor design ensures fast line pick-up, while left- to right-hand retrieve conversion is straightforward. Each reel ships with an embroidered neoprene reel case. Colour options are silver pine, stealth and squall.
