The Sage Shift fly reel is a fully machined, multipurpose reel built to cover the full spectrum of fly fishing applications. From stillwater trout in the Eastern Cape and Vaal River yellowfish, to coastal estuaries and beyond, the Shift delivers consistent, reliable performance across all four size offerings. It is the natural starting point in the Shift series -- a capable, precise reel that punches well above its price point.

Sage's proprietary SCS Drag System features a redundant seal engineered to resist salt- and freshwater intrusion. A numbered, One Revolution Drag Knob -- numbered 1 to 10 with a click position between each number, giving 19 settings in total -- allows for easy and precise adjustment, providing reliable, consistent and repeatable drag pressure. Quickly select the desired setting for your angling application and shift into high gear.

Taking its take-charge cue from the versatile Spectrum series, the fully machined 6061 aluminium Shift reels blend the best of narrow spool width and large arbor design for the ultimate in easy line stacking and ultrafast line pick-up. With a concave spool surface for optimal line capacity and drag-assisting smoothness, the lightweight Shift reel series is packed with the up-levelled tech you'd expect to find on higher-priced reels.

Cold forged and machined 6061 aluminium gives the Shift reel exceptional strength at low weight. A new hub design increases spool rigidity for smoother drag performance under load, while the large arbor combines a narrow spool width with ultrafast line pick-up. A concave spool surface further optimises line capacity and drag smoothness.

One Reel, Four Sizes, Any Application

Available in 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 and 9/10 size configurations, the Sage Shift covers all the avenues from delicate dry fly rigs to medium saltwater setups. Left- and right-hand retrieve conversion is simple, and each reel ships with an embroidered neoprene case. Colour options are black, bronze and platinum.
