Description
Simms Freestone Wading Boot - Rubber Sole is built for rocky, mixed-bottom rivers where you need solid support and confident footing more than the slow-water grip felt provides. A rubber outsole delivers reliable traction on wet rock and the trail approach alike, without picking up didymo or other invasive hitchhikers the way felt soles can.
Features
- Synthetic scratch leather upper that doesn't hold water, so the boot stays light even after hours in the water
- Toe and heel reinforcements add durability and protect against knocks on rock and trail
- Partial neoprene lining for comfort and easy on/off
- Dual-density EVA midsole cushions your stride and absorbs shock underfoot
- Rubber outsole compatible with Hardbite Star Cleats, Hardbite Studs and Alumibite Star Cleats — add studs for extra bite on slick rock
- Weighs approximately 1,531g (about 1.53kg) per pair in US size 11
On the Water: Simms Freestone Wading Boot - Rubber Sole
This is the boot for rivers with a mixed bottom — gravel, rock, mud and trail all in the same day — where one boot needs to handle the hike in as well as the wade. If you're mostly fishing slow water over slick, algae-covered rock, our felt version of this same boot grips better there; rubber is the better all-rounder everywhere else, and for travel where felt soles aren't allowed.
