Description
The Woolly Bugger Tungsten takes the most productive stillwater pattern in fly fishing and gives it the weight to fish where trout actually spend most of their time. A tungsten orange bead replaces the conventional brass head, delivering a significantly faster sink rate that gets the fly into the zone on a shorter leader and holds it there during the retrieve. The construction is otherwise classic Bugger: a marabou tail that pulses and breathes on every pause, a body palmered through with hackle that displaces water and creates a living profile at any speed. The peacock herl body on the Black/Peacock variant adds the iridescent, light-shifting quality that has made peacock one of fly fishing's most reliable fish-catching materials. Fish it on a countdown-and-hang near the bottom, on a slow figure-of-eight through structure, or stripped through the water column when trout are actively hunting. Tied by Scientific Fly in sizes that cover everything from general searching to targeting pressured fish in clear water.
