Description
Description
The Zonker is a baitfish streamer built around one of fly tying's most effective materials: a strip of rabbit skin tied flat over the back of the fly. Where other streamers suggest movement, the Zonker delivers it — the rabbit strip undulates continuously along its full length with even the slowest retrieve, giving the fly a living, breathing profile that is difficult for predatory trout to ignore. A holographic Mylar body catches and scatters light beneath the surface, replicating the flash of a fleeing baitfish, while a red hackle collar at the head adds a gill-like trigger point that has accounted for fish across stillwaters worldwide. It is a fly that works on the strip, on the swing and on the drop, and one that consistently produces when trout are chasing fry along the margins or in open water. Tied by Scientific Fly in four colours covering the full range of baitfish presentations from clear to coloured water.
